Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 11, 2026
We collect the minimum we need to run the service, we protect minors' data with extra care, and we never sell your personal data. This explains what we collect, why, and the rights you have over it.
1.Who we are (data controller)
The controller of your personal data is Athlete Scout LLC, a Florida limited liability company (Sunbiz Doc No. L26000363467), registered address 13018 Bottesford Dr, Orlando, FL 32832, USA. For any privacy question or request, write to support@athletescout.ai.
2.Who this covers
AthleteScout serves families worldwide. Because many of our athletes are minors, we design for the strictest standard: parental consent up front and data minimization throughout. Profiles for under-18 athletes are created and controlled by a parent or guardian.
3.What we collect
Account data (name, email), athlete profile data you choose to publish (sport, positions, physicals, club, media links, bio), payment metadata via Stripe (we never see full card numbers), and basic usage/analytics and device data to keep the site working and secure.
4.Children & parental consent (COPPA)
We do not knowingly let a child under 13 create an account. For minors, the parent/guardian account holder provides verifiable consent, decides what is published, and can review, edit, or delete the child's information at any time. We collect only what's needed for the athletic résumé and do not require a child to disclose more than necessary.
5.How we use data
To create and display profiles, operate verification, process payments, provide support, send service and (with consent) marketing emails, and improve and secure the platform. Public profiles are intentionally discoverable — that is the point of the product — and you control your profile's visibility setting.
6.Sharing & sub-processors
We use trusted sub-processors to run the service: Supabase (database, auth, storage — US), Vercel (hosting/CDN — US), Stripe (payments — US), Mercury (business banking — US, via Choice Financial Group / Column N.A.), Resend (transactional email — US), Anthropic (Claude AI for Scout Sam and profile generation — US), and standard product analytics. All process data under contract on our behalf. We do not sell personal data or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose data if legally required, to protect users, or to enforce our Terms.
7.International transfers (GDPR / LGPD)
We serve EU/UK and Brazilian families among others. Where applicable you have rights to access, correct, delete, port, and object to processing of your data, and to withdraw consent. Data may be processed in the United States with appropriate safeguards. Contact us to exercise any right.
8.Retention, security & your controls
We keep data while your account is active and as needed for legal/tax reasons, then delete or anonymize it. We use industry-standard security (encryption in transit, row-level security on our database). You can edit your profile, change its visibility, export your résumé, or request deletion at any time.
9.California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you live in California, you have the right to (a) know what personal information we collect, use, and share; (b) request a copy; (c) request correction or deletion; (d) opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information; and (e) not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise any right, email support@athletescout.ai from the address on your account. We may verify your identity before acting.
10.Cookies & similar technologies
We use only cookies strictly necessary to keep you signed in and to run the site (session, CSRF, and preference cookies), plus privacy-respecting product analytics that measure anonymized page performance. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time; if you block session cookies, sign-in will not work.
11.Data breaches
If we ever suffer a personal-data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights, we will notify affected users without undue delay and, where legally required, notify supervisory authorities within the applicable time limits (72 hours under GDPR).
